How rad are these necklaces from Elva Fields? I love so many of them. Unfortunately since they are all one of a kind, almost all of them have been bought by other lucky fashionistas. To make them even more awesome, a portion of each online purchase is donated to charity.

March 29th, 2010 by samanthatroy Posting has been light here at The Experts Agree, as we’ve been traveling. In honor of our travels, we’d like to introduce you to the fantastic luggage collection from Sarah Williams’ London College of Fashion master’s project Crafted Fashion. Its mix of funhouse distortions and solid worksmanship is really amazing to look at — oh how I would love to own one of these.

“Historically exceptional craftsmanship was the norm now it is the exception.”
The collection is designed to challenge this statement by utilising regional historical craftsmanship and metamorphosising the traditional in order to produce a collection of original fashion artefacts.
Throughout the whole design and production process three method of change were applied to the materials used; metamorphosis, presence and anthropomorphism. This results in fashion artefacts which relate both to historical traditions but can be used in a modern day context.

January 28th, 2010 by kirstenfinkas If you’re like me and love seeing what people’s homes look like inside and out, take a peek at the selby. One place that looks lovely to me is the home of Dan Martensen and Shannan. Funny how I’m drawn to rustic places out in the country when I was so opposed to that sort of thing growing up in one.

Owen and I are huge Muji fans (though not quite as big fans as Tim, who once made us spend 5 hours in the Muji in Kichjoji). If you aren’t familiar with Muji, it is sort of like a Japanese Ikea, but better. Now Muji has teamed up with Lego and made some really adorable toy sets. They appear to be available only in Japan, but if I can find a place to order them here, I will definitely let you know.

These sugar drops by Joon&Jung make me want to put sugar in my coffee every morning.

November 11th, 2009 by samanthatroy Purses, handbags, pocketbooks, clutches; they’re all fantastic in my book. If you too are a handbag afficionado, you owe it to yourself to check out these lovely finds from etsy.

Row 1:
This gorgeous metallic upcycled vintage clutch by brittnilaur will be a hit at any holiday fête.
I think this clean, classic black-and-white clutch from JuliaSherryDesigns is lovely and its bright pink dupioni lining really pushes it over the top.
This bag from bagonia was the inspiration for this week’s Schmetsy — I love the modern, feminine take on an old-fashioned doctor’s bag.
Row 2:
Owen bought me this bag from neikodesigns a few years ago for my birthday and it remains one of my favorites — I always get compliments when I carry it and it is incredibly well made.
I always like DrikaB‘s color and fabric combinations, and the Red Salander Wristlet doesn’t disappoint.
I couldn’t resist including a second bag from bagonia; it is just adorable.
Row 3:
I love the texture and detail on this Ninfea (water lily) bag from ninu.
While I do love little bags, I have a tendency to carry a lot of stuff and this Rabbit bag from artoncrafts seems large enough to schlep all my stuff and then some.
This mini-clutch in its de Stijl-esque fabric from Bagitarian would be equally cute on its own or carrying essentials in a larger bag.

We’re pretty excited about Emigre’s latest font release, Mr. Eaves — designed by Zuzana Licko to be the sans serif companion to her super popular Mrs. Eaves. It comes in a “sans” and a “modern” — the former like a warmer, quirkier Gill Sans and the latter geometricizing out some of the humanism (double-storey “a” and “g,” tailed “l”) and approaching Avenir or Neutra Text. They both have delicious italics, small caps and a heavy weight which has no correspondence in Mrs. Eaves (and which one hopes will help displace the frankly hideous Gill Sans Ultra Bold).
