Photo Monday: Taormina

This Christmas I made my family Blurb books from some of our past vacations. I had such a good time going through literally thousands of pictures — though it did take forever. I thought it would be fun to share them here, so I’ll be uploading some of them over the next few days. one thing i remember from this vacations was the Sicily flights can be expensive but totally worth it. This first bunch is from Taormina, Sicily.

Flickr Monday—Appuru Pai

Aren’t these high-speed photographs from Appuru Pai great? I love that they look abstract at first glance and but upon further inspection you begin to see lights and cars and buildings. So pretty! Check our more of Appuru Pai’s here.

Flickr Mondays: Lenny&Meriel

I was thinking of doing a whole post on cyanotypes today, but then I saw these 2 pieces from Lenny&Meriel, and I thought they were pretty enough for their own post. I’m pretty much always a fan of the texture and tone in cyanotypes and I love the interaction between the circles and lines in these prints.

Flickr Mondays—Cuba Gallery

Since tomorrow is the first official day of Summer and the weather is remarkably beautiful today, I thought New Zealand based photographer Andrew Smith’s (AKA CubaGallery) work would be perfect. He has a great sense of color and composition and these images make me want to run around outside. Cuba Gallery also has a blog where he talks about his post-production techniques using Adobe Lightroom and shows some pretty impressive before-and-after images for his photographs.

Flickr Mondays—Not really though!

Happy Monday!

While out and about in warm LA this past weekend, I ran across this building that intrigued me–I couldn’t exactly tell if it was old or new. Kind of reminds me of the half-timbered buildings I saw throughout England. So many interesting things to discover when traveling. Hope you all had a nice, relaxing weekend.

Sorry for the lack of posting for Flickr Mondays…work has been insanely busy lately. Hope this image make you smile.

Flickr Mondays…just a bit delayed.

These photos that Andrea McQuade took of her trip to Iceland confirm my thoughts of wanting to visit. I can’t get over how untouched and beautiful the natural landscapes are.

Happy Monday!

If you’re ever looking for photographs of birds, found a pretty neat group pool here.

Enjoy.

Flickr Mondays-Hues of Orange

So happy the sun is out today…even if it is for a short time.

Thought these 1960’s/1970’s National Geographic scans of photographs were so beautiful…and that they all tied together so well with the hint of oranges throughout.
